A few weeks after it was taken down, viral song ‘Selos’ returned to music streaming platforms and YouTube on Thursday, April 11.
Along with the song’s reinstatement, it has also properly acknowledged Australian singer Lenka Kripac, who is credited as the original author and composer.
The song’s instrumental music is the remix of Lenka’s 2008 song ‘Trouble Is A Friend.’
Originally uploaded in December 2023, ‘Selos’ became a viral sensation on social media due to its relatable lyrics about jealousy, while also managing to put an upbeat vibe to it.
However, it was flagged in late March by Lenka’s team due to copyright.
In a ‘Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho’ interview amid the problem, AHS Productions said that they were in contact with the Australian singer’s camp to make ‘Selos’ an official cover song.
Earlier this week, in an update video uploaded on their official pages, AHS and singer Shaira thanked Lenka’s group for the smooth transaction and clarified that no suit were filed against them by the foreign singer.
While the negotiations were ongoing, Shaira also dropped a “diss song” titled ‘Selos Na Yan Friend,’ which features partially rewritten lyrics of ‘Selos.’
