Schedule Suggestions: TV5 (June 2024)

We now make our journey to Reliance for the fourth part of this special anniversary series.

We now make our journey to Reliance for the fourth part of this special anniversary series.

This June, TV5 will begin a major overhaul in its schedule, particularly with its weekday daytime lineup.

The new schedule, the process of which will begin on Monday, June 10, will see numerous programs shifted around the Kapatid network’s programming grid.

Take ‘Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa’ as an example. The action drama series will stop airing in TV5’s ‘Hapon Champion’ afternoon block on Friday, June 14, as it transforms itself as a primetime drama beginning next Monday, June 17.

The same is also true for other shows of the network, such ‘Face 2 Face’ moving to an earlier 10:15 am slot on June 10 to give way to new late-morning drama ‘Padyak Princess,’ which will air before ‘Eat Bulaga’.

With the changes coming to TV5, Schedule Suggestions will take a look at an option that they could consider for the station’s programming grid.

  • Weekdays
  • 5:00 am – Religious programming
  • 6:00 am – Gud Morning Kapatid (simulcast on One News)
  • 8:00 am – TV5 Kids
  • 10:30 am – Frontline Sa Umaga
  • 11:15 am – Padyak Princess
  • 12:00 nn – Eat Bulaga (simulcast on RPTV)
  • 2:30 pm – Willie Revillame show (simulcast on RPTV)
  • 4:00 pm – Face 2 Face (simulcast on One PH)
  • 5:00 pm – Frontline Express
  • 5:15 pm – Catch The Ghost
  • 5:45 pm – Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa
  • 6:25 pm – Frontline Pilipinas
  • 8:00 pm – FPJ’s Batang Quiapo
  • 8:45 pm – Pamilya Sagrado
  • 9:30 pm – High Street
  • 10:15 pm – 2gether The Series
  • 10:45 pm – Frontline Tonight
  • 11:30 pm – Parientes A La Fuerza
  • 12:00 mn – Religious programming

A revamp in the network’s weekday lineup should begin with the transfer of ‘Gud Morning Kapatid’ to the 6:00 am slot, with the main objective being: to provide viewers with a major alternative breakfast show on the slot that is otherwise dominated by ‘Unang Hirit’ on GMA-7 or ‘Dobol B TV’ on GTV.

Following the morning show, should be the TV5 Kids block, which should still run for two-and-a-half hours from 8:00 to 10:30 am.

At 10:30 am, ‘Frontline Sa Umaga’ will provide an update in the day’s biggest stories, and also offer an alternative to pre-lunchtime newscasts like GTV’s ‘Balitanghali’.

As expected, ‘Padyak Princess’ will take on the pre-noontime slot at 11:15 am, followed by ‘Eat Bulaga’ at 12:00 noon.

Following both programs, the variety game show of the returning Kapatid entertainer Willie Revillame could be presumably aired back-to-back with ‘Eat Bulaga’ from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm, if the earlier teased RPTV simulcast of the new show would be the basis.

As of the moment, the only free slot on the channel is tbe said time slot, as RPTV is preoccupied with sports programs from 4:00 to 10:00 pm.

After the variety show, the tabloid talk show ‘Face 2 Face’ could be aired, although if it is to continue with the One PH simulcast, it will prompt the move of ‘Julius and Tintin Para Sa Pamilyang Pilipino’ to, perhaps, 11:00 am.

There should still be a quick news summary, care of ‘Frontline Express’ at 5:00 pm.

Korean drama ‘Catch The Ghost’ could take the 5:15 pm slot, which is the transition slot to the Todomax Primetime Singko block.

To kick off the primetime block should be ‘Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa,’ which despite presumptions of its transfer to 7:15 pm or before ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,’ should be aired at the 5:45 pm slot instead.

Foremost, this would allow ‘Frontline Pilipinas’ to continue airing at 6:30 pm and maintain its direct competition with its established rivals on other stations.

Another reason being to provide a valuable counterprogramming to GMA’s ‘Family Feud,’ which dominates the pre-primetime news slot.

Skipping much of the primetime block, telenovela ‘Parientes A La Fuerza’ will air at 11:30 pm, affirming the move of the program to the late-night slot starting June 10.

  • Saturdays
  • 6:00 am – Religious programming
  • 7:00 am – TV5 Kids
  • 10:00 am – Cine Cinco
  • 11:30 am – Eat Bulaga (simulcast on RPTV)
  • 2:30 pm – Willie Revillame show (simulcast on RPTV)
  • 4:00 pm – Top 5 Mga Kwentong Marc Logan
  • 4:45 pm – Gus Abelgas Forensics
  • 5:30 pm – Frontline Pilipinas Weekend
  • 6:15 pm – Wow Mali Doble Tama
  • 7:15 pm – What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?
  • 8:45 pm – I Can See Your Voice
  • 9:45 pm – Rated Korina
  • 10:45 pm – Budol Alert (replay)
  • 11:30 pm – Kaya (rerun)
  • 12:00 mn – Religious programming

Tweaks in the Saturday schedule of the network should begin with the post-‘Eat Bulaga’ slot from 2:30 pm onwards.

TV5 should be keen to give Willie Revillame a Saturday slot for his new show, which will also help the station maximize its existing time slots that are otherwise filled with these movie blocks that could get repetitive.

Following that variety game show should be ‘Top 5 Mga Kwentong Marc Logan,’ which currently airs at 6:15 pm.

Such a change will allow the network to air fresh content all the way into the late-evening block, as the 4:00/4:30 pm slot is currently occupied by reruns of documentary show ‘Kaya’.

Also, that slight change will enable TV5 to simulcast ABS-CBN shows on primetime with ease.

Jumping ahead, ‘Wow Mali Doble Tama’ would get its original 6:15 pm slot with these adjustments.

From 7:15 pm to 9:45 pm, TV5 will simulcast the weekend marquee shows of ABS-CBN Studios, while carry the delayed telecast of ‘Rated Korina’ at 9:45 pm.

From 10:45 pm onwards, the Kapatid network has the free reign to either air repeats of ‘Budol Alert’ and ‘Kaya’ or slot in ‘Cine Cinco Hits’ instead.

  • Sundays
  • 5:00 am – Religious programming
  • 6:00 am – Sunday TV Mass
  • 7:00 am – TV5 Kids
  • 10:00 am – Cine Cinco
  • 12:00 nn – ASAP Natin ‘To
  • 2:15 pm – Sunday Blockbusters
  • 4:00 pm – Pinoy Explorer
  • 4:45 pm – Budol Alert
  • 5:30 pm – Frontline Pilipinas Weekend
  • 6:15 pm – Kapatid Mo, Raffy Tulfo
  • 7:15 pm – What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?
  • 8:45 pm – I Can See Your Voice
  • 9:45 pm – The Rain In España
  • 10:45 pm – American Idol

For the network’s Sunday line-up, there will be minimal changes in its current schedule.

The only thing that this blog will suggest is the exchange of slots between ‘I Can See Your Voice’ and ‘The Rain in España,’ which would result to the former taking the 8:45 pm time slot, while the latter would be aired at 9:45 pm.

June is indeed going to become an exciting month for Kapatid viewers. This, as the network begins to roll out its latest experiments, which will not only be in terms of the programs that they will offer, but also in the scheduling patterns they plan to implement.

While the exact schedules for the other shows beyond June 10 are still kept under wraps, their loyal viewers and casual spectators alike could only hope that it would result to an enhanced viewing experience for all of them.

After all, a stronger line-up could be a factor in injecting more competition, which could do good by forcing networks to present better programs for their audiences.
